DULSE
A redish-purple sea vegetable used in soups, salads, and vegetable dishes. Very high in protein, Vitamin A, iodine, and phosphorus. Used for centuries in European cooking, dulse is now harvested on both sides fo the North Atlantic (including off the coasts of Maine & Mass.)

FU
A dried wheat gluten product. Available in thin sheets or thick round cakes. Used in soups, stews, and vegetable dishes. High in protein.

GINGER
A spicy, pungent, golden-colored root, used in cooking as a condiment or garnish, and for medicinal purposes.
GINGER COMPRESS
Sometimes called a ginger fomentation. A compress made from grated ginger root and very hot water. Applied hot to an affected area of the body. It serves to stimulate circulation and dissolve stagnation.I myself use Ginger Compress and Ginger Oil " it works"

GOMASHIO
A condiment made from roasted, ground sesame seeds and sea salt.

Phil make this and puts it on almost everything he eats.

Goma Wakame Powder
A condiment made from roasted and crushed wakame and sesame seeds. Also rich in minerals and other essential nutrients. Used like gomashio.

GRAIN COFFEE
A non-caffeine coffee substitute made from roasted grains, beans, and roots. ingredients are combined in different ways to create a variety of flavors. Used like instant coffee.

HIJIKI
A dark, brown seaweed which, when dried, turns black. It has a wiry consistency and may be strong tasting. Hijiki is imported from Japan but also grows off the coast of Maine.

JAPANSES BLACK BEANS
A special type of soy-bean grown in Japan. it may be used medicinally to treat reproductive problems. in cooling, black beans are used in soups and side dishes.
